Dr. Patricia Bucci, YCDSB Educational Consultant – Understanding Stress in Our Children

The St. Anne Catholic School Council invites you to an evening with Dr. Patricia Bucci, YCDSB Educational Consultant – Understanding Stress in Our Children.

Through her passion for brain research and its implications for parenting and teaching, Dr. Bucci will present some of the causes of childhood stress and share insightful tips and strategies to address childhood stress. Feelings of stress and anxiety are a part of life. Some levels of stress are necessary and can actually be good for us! The right kind of stress encourages us toward change and growth. However, when stress and anxiety levels exist for an extended period of time, they can compromise the health of our children.

Dr. Patricia Bucci is an educator and consultant in the field of Special Education.  Her love of education was evident at a very young age and she feels extremely privileged to have been able to support children, teachers, and parents for the past 35 years.

Dr. Bucci earned her doctorate at UT allowing her to deepen her understanding of learning and teaching.  During her post-graduate studies, she developed a deep interest in the evolving science of the brain and welcomes opportunities to share the implications of neuroscience on teaching and parenting.

She has done extensive teaching of Additional Qualification Courses for Teachers, has designed an early literacy program for children struggling with reading, and has presented widely and with great passion to teachers and parents.
