Welcome Back to a New School Year

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We hope that you have enjoyed a wonderful summer and that you had an opportunity to rest and to spend lots of time with your family and friends.

We have enjoyed a wonderful first week of school that ended with our liturgy to celebrate a new school year. It is fitting that we reflect on the theme for Catholic Education Week 2017: Walking Forward Together and thank God for the wonderful gift of Catholic Education. As we journey together this year, we give thanks to all our families at St. Anne. We extend a warm welcome to all our returning students and to those new to our school community. We are thankful for the efforts and hard work of our teachers, E.A., E.C.E., secretaries and custodians. They have been hard at work preparing their classrooms and the school in anticipation of our students’ return. We are grateful to the YCDSB for renovating our play yard with new asphalt – what a gift! We look forward to working closely with Father Peter of St. Mary Immaculate Parish and our Trustees, Dominic Mazotta, Ann Stong and Cathy Ferlisi. With their help and guidance, we hope to continue to strengthen our school, home and church partnership.

Our first Catholic School Council meeting is Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 at 7 p.m. Please join us as we are truly blessed with a vibrant and supportive parent community. We look forward to meeting you at our upcoming BBQ and Curriculum Night on Thursday, September 22nd, 2016 beginning at 5:00 p.m. This will be a valuable opportunity to meet other families, visit your child’s classroom and learn about the classroom teacher’s expectations, procedures and the curriculum.

I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you for your warm welcome. I have been truly blessed to have been given the opportunity to serve this wonderful school community.

We look forward to another year of growth in faith, hope and love.

Sincerely,
Martina Smith, Principal
